Wavecom TNT Model Comparison
Wavecom Instruments are one of the largest manufacturers of portable appliance testers in the Australian market.
There is a variety of models in Wavecom’s Generation 4 TNT range, so we have outlined all the most important information you will need to decide which Gen 4 TNT tester is right for you. With such a broad range of testers, picking the right one will depend on what you actually need.

An excellent advantage of purchasing one of these testers, is that you can easily upgrade your unit to include memory, scanners or printers in the future.
When you would need a different model:
TNT el: The TNT el is an excellent entry level tester. You can easily complete any test required with simple one button testing – press the ‘F1’ button for Class I tests, and the ‘F2’ button for Class II tests. This tester is also capable of conducting Leakage Current testing, which is a bonus for a tester in that particular price range. Another advantage of all the Gen 4 TNT testers is the Meter Mode function, which display's volts, amps, true power and reactive power of an individual appliance.
TNT elb: This model includes the same testing features as the TNT el, but it is the only model that is supplied with a battery pack. The power bank will allow you to conduct up to 3000 tests, before it will need recharging.
TNT RCD: The TNT RCD, is the next step up from the previous TNT models. This model is capable of testing all 240V electrical appliances, including fixed and portable RCD’s.
TNT +: USB Cable and WinPATs Premium Software is included with this tester as standard. This enables you to connect the tester to your PC or laptop and create a database to store all your records.
TNT + M: At the higher end, there is the TNT + M model which includes downloadable memory storage. It has the capacity to store 5000 items, with 8 tests per item (40,000 total tests). This unit comes with the WinPAT Premium Software and Keyboard included as standard.
TNT + XM: This is the model with the most features. You can test all 240V electrical appliances, including fixed and portable RCDs. It also includes downloadable memory of 5000 items and it comes with the WinPATs Premium Software and Keyboard as standard. Where this model differs is its ability to test up to 20A equipment, whereas all the other models are only capable of testing up to 10A.
